Wilma Rudoulph born June 23, 1940 in Clarksville, Tennessee to Ed and Blanche Rudolph. Wilma was born 5th of 8 childrenin her fathers 2nd marriage. Wilma had all together 19 siblings.
At the age of four something tragic happend to Wilma. She developed a disease called polio. Though she survived, she lost use of her left leg. Through the efforts of her devoted family—and her own steely determination to strengthen herself—she rose from disability to Olympic glory.
